Puffin Web Design is a graphic design company started in 2000 as Puffin Publishing, a desk-top publishing company. Originally a print-centric design company,  Puffin has evolved into a business focusing on website design, online publication integration and on the training of website managers. An expert in WordPress, Puffin’s founder Jim has worked in all aspects of graphic design from paste up (when it really involved paste) to database-driven on-line forms. He is eager to put his skills to work for you. Puffin believes the designs created for you belong to you.

Why a Puffin?

As an avid birder, owner Jim Ecklund has always had a soft spot for this delightful bird. Called “sea parrots” as well as “clowns of the sea,” Atlantic puffins have large, brightly-colored beaks on their substantially-sized heads. Jet black and white markings on their feathers, as well as superior diving capabilities, have led people to compare the northern seabirds to penguins. Atlantic puffins are actually not related to penguins at all. Puffins are great fliers. Flapping their wings at up to 400 beats per minute, they can reach speeds of 55mph.
